Springtime 2005, I started to become an organ player. Usually the lessons are in St. Trinitatis, the church of
my wedding and baptism of my daughter. Below are the places recorded, where I have been practising at all.
Versöhnungskirche (Reconciliation Church) Wolfenbüttel (II/P/22)
My home organ - close to my residence. Usually I start each working day with approx. one hour practice here.
Further on I was asked to do work on the church's council.
St. Trinitatis Wolfenbüttel (II/P/29)
Although I can practice there at any time it is of help to do so during the opening hours of the church.
The "Own Organ Project" 2012
Unfortunately St. EMA can not accomodate a pipe organ. So, I'm looking out for something different.
Initially I would like to have an Excellent but after re-launch of the Rembrandt I'm thinking about going with this one.
Or better this one?
;-)
Rembrandt 350 (III/P/65)
(Really a dream, isn't it?)
Gloria Excellent 242 (II/P/42)
(Should be enought for practising?)
  Monarke Van Eyck
 (II/P/30)
Practising during vacations
Dorfkirche Reinhardtsgrimma - The organ was built 1731 by Gottfried Silbermann!
During the celebration of the 20th anniversary of commencement of study in Dresden, I got the opportunity to play
a Prelude of Johann Sebastian Bach and some other pieces here. Great! (May 2007)
Jakobskirche Weimar
Church of Geheimrat Goethe's wedding with Christiane Vulpius and of my own confirmation(*). Unfortunately the organ
of 1721 on the gallery (converted to pneumatic key action in 1947 as far as I know) does not work since ages anymore.
Also there is not a single pipe left inside. The case is nowadays used as a cupboard!    (*) Exaudi 1978
(Dec. 2008, Dec. 2010, Jul. 2011, Dec. 2011)
Schifferkirche Ahrenshoop
A small Schuke organ under a thatched roof. Just one manual but a really gentle and smooth sound. (Sept. 2009, Sept. 2010)
Magdeburger Dom St. Mauritius und Katharina (IV/P/93)
Part of my aunt's "cultural program" celebrating her birthday. We all were together on the balcony (reached by
elevator). So, I have no idea what the organist feels if the folk is as far away as it seems to be. But the construction
of the organ is great: in particular the canopy which protects the organist from direct sound irradiation. Damn!
I've forgotten the story about the "Goldene Hahn". (October 2011)
Michaelskirche Ottobrunn (Munich)
Again, practising in advance of a party: RdL's 78th birthday. The church itself is of the same age
as the Versöhnungskirche in Wolfenbüttel but more than double sized. Great acoustics. (August 2010)
Kirche Epfenbach
Practising in advance of the 60th anniversary party of an uncle of my father, the "Herschwert vun Epfelbach".
A really well-kept church and an exceptional powerful organ. Strange: the fixed organ bench. (August 2008)
Kirche Logabirum
The prospectus of this "baroque" organ with knucklebone keys, dated 1998, is based on the very first organ
of the church from the 18th century. (April 2007)
Kapelle "Der Heilige Lorenz" Schmilau
Situated in the quaint "Lauenburgischer Naturpark" where my daughter and her girl-friend were horse-riding. (April 2006)
Practising abroad during vacations, business trips or trainings
Templo Ecumenico de San Salvado, Playa del Inglés, Gran Canaria / Spain
Asked the organist after holy mass for playing. Did some parts of Pachelbels Chaconne F minor without notes.
New experience: playing the pedal board with sandals. (April 2011)
St Michael and All Angels', Lydbury North, UK
An exciting english training week in Shropshire AND an organ dated 1924 with pneumatic key action! (October 2007)
I explained on the Presentation Day how an organ works. My first concert was given to the teachers and other students.
The Church of the Resurrection, Farlington, UK
My first organ with electric key action.
After service I was locked in and the Reverend released me a couple of hours later. (so done several times in 2007)
St Saviour, Stamshaw, UK
Amazing, I met the priest of St Alban & St Saviour who was living in Wolfenbüttel for about 3 years. (several times in 2007)
Šv. Mato Bažnyčia, Rokiškis, LT
I was suprised by an unexpected invitation to play - and - the first trial went badly wrong! I only can promise working hard,
playing without notes, enlarging my repertoire etc. What shall I say? Labai ačiū! Viskas bus tvarkoj. (Oct. 2009)
Parish Church of Saint Osmund, Derby, UK
Next door to Catalis Rail Training School, where I spent two weeks for rail training. (June 2005)
In and around Wolfenbüttel
Hauptkirche Beatae Mariae Virginis (BMV) (IV/P/53)
Extra opportunity for weekly practice in preparation for an important event: Due to the difficult family situation
playing the organ - well hidden by the back division - was the only way being with my daughter for her first sacrament.
Nobody was aware of this. Thanks to all who knew about. (Quasimodogeniti 2011)
